Baabda: Depositors began gathering on the road leading to the Presidential Palace in Baabda to stage a sit-in, coinciding with the Cabinet session, in protest against the proposed financial gap draft law. Demonstrators raised banners stressing their right to their bank deposits and demanding their full recovery.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the protest is a response to concerns that the financial gap draft law could impact the recovery of deposits that have been inaccessible due to ongoing financial challenges in the banking sector. The proposed legislation has raised apprehensions among depositors who fear it might lead to losses of their savings.

The demonstrators are urging government officials to consider their plight and to ensure that any new financial regulations do not compromise their rights to access their funds. The sit-in aims to draw attention to the issues depositors have faced and to push for solutions that prioritize their financial security.
