Beirut: Egypt reiterated its categorical rejection of any Israeli plans to displace the Palestinian people from their historic land, whether in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, under any pretext, justification, or designation.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that “Cairo is following with great concern the recent reports of Israeli consultations with some countries to accept the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to their territories.” It explained that “these attempts represent an unacceptable Israeli policy aimed at emptying Palestinian land of its owners, occupying it, and liquidating the Palestinian cause.”
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that in its communications with the countries reportedly agreeing to receive Palestinians, they stated their rejection of these reprehensible plans.
Egypt called on all peace-loving countries to refrain from involvement in this immoral crime, which contravenes all principles of international humanitarian law and constitutes a war crime, ethnic cleansing, and a clear violation of the Four Geneva Conventions.
It warned of the historical and legal responsibility that will fall on any party involved in this heinous crime and the political consequences and repercussions it carries with regional and international dimensions, according to the agency.
