Housing Bank Chairman Meets Parliament Speaker Berri on Housing Initiatives

Beirut: Housing Bank chairman Antoine Habib recently met with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to discuss the progress of ongoing housing loan programs and efforts to secure new financing from Arab funds. During the meeting, Habib provided an update on the bank's activities aimed at addressing Lebanon's housing needs.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Habib reported that the bank had approved 957 housing-related files valued at over $67 million as of May 18, 2026. This initiative is part of the bank's commitment to support Lebanese citizens in acquiring housing despite the country's economic challenges.

Additionally, Habib announced a new development housing project following the approval from Banque du Liban to release part of the bank's funds in Lebanese pounds. This project aims to finance residential units for low- and middle-income families, individuals with special needs, and employees in both the public and private sectors.

Parliament Speaker Berri expressed his willingness to extend further support to ensure that Lebanese citizens have access to affordable housing. This comes as a crucial step in alleviating the housing crisis amid the ongoing economic difficulties faced by the nation.
