Beirut: Industry Minister Joe Issa Khoury confirmed in a joint press conference with the head of the Association of Industrialists and the syndicates of food industry owners and pharmaceutical factories that the ministry will work to secure fuel for all factories, adding that a joint crisis cell has been formed in order to ensure food and pharmaceutical security.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Minister Khoury emphasized the government’s proactive measures to avoid any shortages, disruptions, or instances of exploitation in the crucial sectors of food and pharmaceuticals. He assured the public that the pharmaceutical industry currently maintains a stock sufficient for no less than three months, with raw materials for medicines available for at least eight months. Additionally, the food industry sector maintains a stock sufficient for no less than four months.

The formation of the crisis cell is a strategic move aimed at bolstering the resilience of these sectors amid ongoing challenges. The minister’s announcement underscores the commitment to maintaining stability and ensuring the continuous availability of essential goods to the population.
