Cairo: Minister of Labor, Dr. Mohammad Haidar, embarked on a journey to Cairo to attend the 52nd session of the Arab Labor Conference, organized by the Arab Labor Organization. Accompanied by an official delegation representing government, employers, and laborers, Minister Haidar will engage in various meetings and activities during the conference.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Haidar is scheduled to deliver Lebanon's address at the conference. He will discuss the challenges facing the Lebanese labor sector amidst the country's difficult circumstances, particularly the impact of the Israeli war on the economy, state institutions, and productive sectors. This conflict has affected the labor market, workers, business establishments, and employers.

Minister Haidar will also participate in the Arab Symposium organized by the Arab Association for Social Security. The symposium will focus on the financial sustainability of social security systems and explore ways to enhance their capacity to withstand crises and shocks.

In addition, Haidar will take part in the preparatory ministerial consultation for the Regional Tripartite Forum on Return, Reintegration, Recovery, and Regional Cooperation in Labor Markets in Syria and neighboring countries. This participation is at the invitation of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and aims to foster regional cooperation on labor issues.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Labor Minister is set to meet with his Syrian and Jordanian counterparts to discuss strengthening regional cooperation in labor markets. Lebanon's involvement in these Arab-level engagements highlights its commitment to addressing labor and social security issues and exploring opportunities for Arab and regional cooperation in crisis response, social protection, and labor market support.
