Beirut: MP Fouad Makhzoumi expressed support for President Joseph Aoun following a meeting on Monday, emphasizing that the framework agreement announced in Washington is a crucial step towards restoring state sovereignty. Makhzoumi highlighted the importance of placing arms and decisions regarding war and peace solely under state control.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Makhzoumi pledged his full backing for President Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in their efforts to advance the process. He stressed the need to strengthen national unity and support state institutions. Additionally, Makhzoumi proposed the adoption of a national recovery, reconstruction, and development plan. This plan would coincide with extending state authority and deploying the Lebanese Army after the transfer of Hezbollah's weapons to state control.
