Beirut: Information Minister, Paul Morcos, on Wednesday said Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, stressed the need to ensure the supply of diesel to centers hosting displaced people and to frontline southern villages, in coordination with the energy and economy ministers. Morcos spoke after the daily ministerial meeting held at the Grand Serail and chaired by Salam with several ministers. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Minister added that the meeting emphasized the continued provision of food, water and essential services, as well as facilitating the release of funds needed to meet urgent needs through the High Relief Commission and other relevant bodies. Ministers also briefed the meeting on the efforts undertaken by their respective ministries before heading to the operations room at the Grand Serail to review relief operations and response mechanisms. Morcos said 39 centers for displaced people remain open, with more than 100 additional sites available to be activated if needed.
