PM Nawaf Salam Discusses Bilateral Ties, Post-UNIFIL Phase with New Spanish Ambassador

Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Friday received at the Grand Serail newly appointed Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Miguel de Lucas Gonzalez, who came on a protocol visit upon assuming his diplomatic duties in the country. During the meeting, bilateral relations were discussed, as well as the post-UNIFIL phase, in light of Spain's participation within the international peacekeeping force operating in southern Lebanon.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions between Prime Minister Salam and Ambassador Gonzalez centered on strengthening the relations between Lebanon and Spain. The focus was on enhancing cooperation in various sectors and addressing the post-UNIFIL phase, given the significance of Spain's role in the peacekeeping operations in southern Lebanon. Ambassador Gonzalez expressed Spain's commitment to supporting Lebanon's stability and prosperity through continued collaboration and dialogue.
