Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday affirmed that when ethics were absent, only the judiciary could hold wrongdoers and corrupt individuals accountable across all sectors, particularly in healthcare, hospitals, and pharmaceuticals.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the President’s remarks came during a meeting with a delegation from the Order of Pharmacists, led by its president, Joe Salloum. The discussions focused on the crucial role of the judiciary in tackling corruption within the pharmaceutical industry and other sectors.
The president also met with the Czech Ambassador to Lebanon, Jir Dole‚¬Å¡¬¦¾el, with whom he discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation in various fields. The meeting highlighted the importance of international collaboration in enhancing judicial and healthcare systems.
Additionally, President Aoun held talks with the President of the Military Court of Cassation, Judge John Kazzi, on general judicial matters. The discussions underscored the necessity of an efficient judiciary to ensure accountability and uphold justice across the nation.
