President Joseph Aoun Commends Security and Defense Achievements, Emphasizes Support for Reform

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Monday welcomed delegations from Lebanon's key security and defense sectors at Baabda Palace. During the meetings, President Aoun recognized the significant achievements made by these bodies and reinforced the state's commitment to supporting security and reform initiatives.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun praised the State Security, led by Major General Edgar Lawandos, for their efforts in combating corruption. He noted that their success has not only restored the authority of the state but also increased its revenues. In discussions with the General Security Directorate, headed by Major General Hassan Choucair, President Aoun emphasized that their accomplishments are a source of pride, highlighting that security is a driver of economic stability.

Addressing the Internal Security Forces Command, led by Major General Raed Abdullah, President Aoun complimented their role in establishing security and stability in Lebanon. He underscored that effective coordination with other security agencies has been key to their successful mission. In his meeting with the army leadership, headed by General Rudolph Haykal, President Aoun expressed confidence in their dedication to the country's welfare, noting their historical and current contributions to Lebanon's safety.

Finally, President Aoun assured the delegation from Lebanon's Customs, led by Acting Director General Raymond Khoury, of the state's intention to enhance automation and modernization efforts. He stressed the importance of aligning their operations with global customs standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
