Beirut: In a post on X, former minister Raed Khoury indicated that the head of Lebanon's regulatory authority for cannabis cultivation for medical and industrial use, Dani Fadel, has once again highlighted the condition of the sector and the obstacles preventing its launch.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Khoury emphasized the importance of the cannabis cultivation sector, stating, "This sector is neither a luxury nor a slogan. We included it in the McKinsey Plan developed for Lebanon as one of the sectors capable of generating around $1 billion annually. Lebanon cannot afford to stall productive sectors that can create jobs, attract investment, and bring in foreign currency."
Khoury further stressed the urgency of action, adding, "What is needed now is a government decision, implementing decrees, and the launch of the sector under the highest standards of monitoring and governance. Enough delays; Lebanon needs to produce, not wait."
