Diman: Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, presided over the Feast of the Assumption Mass at the Patriarchal Church in Diman, where he delivered a homily focusing on the principles of Christian-Muslim coexistence in Lebanon.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Patriarch greeted the congregation and acknowledged the significance of the Marian feast. He highlighted the virtues of the Virgin Mary, noting her life of silent service and faithfulness, which ultimately led to her Assumption. He drew parallels between Mary's life and the current state of Lebanon, urging the nation to open itself to truth and justice.

The Patriarch expressed hope for Lebanon's future, invoking the intercession of Mary, and emphasized the need for peace that respects dignity and sovereignty. He mentioned the ongoing negotiations in Rome concerning Lebanon's southern region and sovereignty, expressing optimism for an end to the nation's struggles and a return to stability.

Cardinal Al-Rahi stressed that a fair state is characterized by safeguarding rights for all citizens rather than privileging a few. He reiterated that Lebanon's governance system is founded on equitable Christian-Muslim participation, ensuring rights for all citizens. He encouraged the Lebanese to follow Mary's example in committing to national unity and peace.

Concluding his homily, the Patriarch expressed confidence in Lebanon's resilience and its potential for renewal, attributing its future success to divine protection and the unity of its people.
