Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, addressing the Cabinet session, responded to Israeli army threats to target the southern towns of Mays al-Jabal, Kfar Tibnit, and Debbine, which were accompanied by urgent evacuation warnings.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Salam emphasized the Lebanese government’s commitment to halting hostilities and its active participation in mechanism meetings. He questioned Israel’s commitment to these frameworks, highlighting the contradiction between ongoing intimidation and the intended purpose of ensuring the full implementation of Resolution 1701 and the cessation of hostilities.
The Prime Minister urged the international community, particularly the guarantor states of the cessation of hostilities agreement, to apply maximum pressure on Israel. He called for Israel to immediately cease its aggressions, return to the agreed mechanism, comply with ceasefire commitments, withdraw from occupied Lebanese territory, and release detainees.
