Disaster Risk Management Unit Reports Over 1000 Martyrs and Thousands Displaced

Beirut: The Disaster Risk Management Unit of the Premiership has released its daily report, indicating significant human impact as a result of ongoing hostilities. The report for Monday, March 23, 2026, highlighted the challenges faced by the population amidst increasing violence and displacement.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the report detailed that 1,039 individuals have been confirmed as martyrs, while 2,876 have sustained injuries since the beginning of hostilities. On the day of the report alone, 10 individuals were martyred and 90 were wounded, showcasing the persistent and severe nature of the conflict.

The report further emphasized the displacement crisis, with a total of 133,678 individuals currently residing in 645 shelters across the region. These figures translate to 34,102 families seeking refuge due to the ongoing conflict. The number of hostile incidents recorded has reached 3,456, illustrating the widespread nature of the violence impacting the region.

The data underscores the extensive human toll and the urgent need for continued support and intervention to manage the crisis effectively. The Disaster Risk Management Unit continues to monitor the situation closely and provide updates on the evolving circumstances.
