Beirut: MP Ziad Hawat has called on the Public Prosecution Office to take immediate action following alarming statements made by Faisal Shukr, the deputy head of Hezbollah’s Bekaa region. Hawat, through his “X” account, highlighted the severity of Shukr’s remarks, which included a clear incitement to violence against those advocating for Hezbollah’s disarmament.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Hawat emphasized that Shukr’s statements target individuals who support the enforcement of the Constitution, the Taif Agreement, and international resolutions. Furthermore, he pointed out that Shukr’s call for violence goes against the cessation of hostilities agreement that Hezbollah itself has endorsed. Hawat stressed that these remarks threaten to plunge Lebanon back into conflict, urging legal authorities to intervene swiftly to prevent further escalation.
