PM Nawaf Salam Engages with Key Figures in Grand Serail Meetings

Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Wednesday, engaged in a series of significant meetings at the Grand Serail, focusing on Lebanon’s current political landscape and developments in southern regions. Among his visitors was Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, with whom he conferred on the prevailing circumstances in the country.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Premier Salam also welcomed a delegation from the “Jamaa Islamiya.” The delegation included MP Dr. Imad al-Hout, Head of Jamaa Islamiya Political Bureau, Ali Abou Yassin, and Wael Najm. Following their discussions, Abou Yassin expressed that they were honored to meet with the Prime Minister and delved into pressing national matters, especially those arising from the country’s challenging and delicate situation.

Abou Yassin further elaborated that the delegation presented Jamaa Islamiya Group’s vision and political agenda, completed in April, titled ‘A Vision for the Nation: A Reform and Development Project.’ This comprehensive program addresses various domains, including political, economic, social, judicial, and administrative affairs, alongside a national security strategy. Key elements of this initiative were discussed during the meeting.

In a separate engagement, the Prime Minister conferred with Waseem Ammash, Chairman of RAMCO Company’s Board of Directors, as well as Walid Bousaid, the Company’s General Manager, and Rabih Ammash, the Deputy General Manager. Their discussions reportedly centered on tackling the waste management issues plaguing Beirut, exploring potential solutions to enhance the capital’s environmental health.
