Beirut: Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji expressed gratitude to his French counterpart Jean-No«l Barrot during a phone call for France’s key role in securing the renewal of UNIFIL’s mandate under favorable terms.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Barrot welcomed the Lebanese government’s approval of the army’s plan to reinforce state authority and limit weapons to official forces. He affirmed France’s continued support for Lebanon’s commitments and the Lebanese Armed Forces.
Barrot also conveyed President Emmanuel Macron’s intent to host two international conferences, one to bolster the army and another focused on reconstruction and economic recovery when conditions allow.
