Beirut: Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel on Wednesday expressed solidarity with Qatar following what he described as an Israeli attack on the Gulf state, during a meeting with Qatar’s ambassador to Lebanon.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Gemayel received Ambassador Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman bin Faisal Al Thani and his delegation at Kataeb headquarters. The meeting was attended by MP Elias Hankach, party officials Walid Fares and George Jamhoury, as well as Foreign Affairs chief Marwan Abdallah.

The Kataeb leader ‘strongly condemned the Israeli aggression’ that took place on Tuesday in Doha and conveyed what he called a message of solidarity to Doha, declaring full support for Qatar’s leadership, government, and people.

He praised Qatar’s consistent support for Lebanon, highlighting its longstanding backing of the Lebanese State and army, as well as its contributions to strengthening the economy and standing by the Lebanese people during their most difficult ordeals.
