MoPWT: Field Operations Ongoing as Storm Persists, Littering Fuels Flood Risks

Beirut: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport on Tuesday confirmed that its field operations remained ongoing amid the storm and heavy rainfall, stressing that prevention "remains a shared responsibility."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, in a post on X platform, the ministry warned that with intensified rainfall, randomly discarded waste accumulating on streets becomes one of the main causes of clogged rainwater drainage systems, exacerbating the risk of flooding.

The ministry emphasized that avoiding littering plays a direct role in reducing damage and safeguarding public safety, calling on citizens to act responsibly during severe weather conditions.
