Nna: Chinese Ambassador Chen Chuandong on Wednesday reaffirmed his country's continued support for Lebanon in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, while stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ambassador made the remarks during a visit to acting South and Nabatieh Governor Mansour Daou at his office in Sidon's Serail. The ambassador was heading an embassy delegation accompanied by Lebanese-Chinese Businessmen Association President Ali Abdallah. South Lebanon Internal Security Forces regional commander Brigadier General Ahmad Abu Daher was also in attendance.

The nearly 30-minute meeting focused on the general situation, developments in southern Lebanon, and ways to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in the South Governorate. Chen described the meeting as fruitful, noting that it marked his first official visit to Sidon as ambassador and provided an opportunity to discuss ideas for developing cooperation, especially in Sidon and southern Lebanon.

"China has been and will remain supportive of Lebanon in achieving its unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity," he stated, highlighting the strong friendship between the two countries. Chen concluded the visit by presenting Daou with a symbolic gift.
