Beirut: Minister for the Displaced and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Chehadi welcomed Parliament's abolition of the death penalty, describing the move as long overdue.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Chehadi expressed his support by stating that the abolition had been anticipated for a significant period. He highlighted that the government had been a strong proponent of this cause and emphasized that Parliament's recent decision reflects a harmonization of the nation's laws with its core values. Chehadi shared his thoughts on the development through a post on X, reiterating the alignment of legislative actions with societal principles.
