Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, held a series of meetings with significant figures at Baabda Palace, addressing pressing national issues. Discussions focused on the country’s general situation, telecommunications, education, and economic recovery.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun met with Vice Speaker Elias Bou Saab to deliberate on the country’s general condition and preparations for the upcoming Cabinet session. Additionally, he engaged with Telecommunications Minister Charles Hajj, discussing improvements in the telecommunications sector and the formation of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
President Aoun also conferred with Professor Bassam Badran, President of the Lebanese University, about the university’s conditions as the new academic year approaches. Discussions with Lebanese businessman Wadih Al-Absi centered on the role of the business sector in economic recovery. Furthermore, President Aoun welcomed the new council of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, led by President Reverend Father Joseph Moukarzel, who expressed alignment with the President’s vision.
In his address, President Aoun emphasized the importance of national unity and the need to move beyond past grievances. He called for collective efforts to ensure Lebanon’s stability and progress, urging citizens to focus on protecting the nation and fostering institutional growth.
President Aoun also met with MP Fouad Makhzoumi to discuss current national challenges, receiving support for his efforts to consolidate state authority. Additional visitors included a delegation from the ‘Lebanese Social Responsibility’ Association and Dr. Jean Ellieh, Head of the Public Procurement Authority, who discussed the authority’s crucial role.
Lastly, President Aoun met with Ambassador Hind Darwish, head of Lebanon’s Permanent Mission to UNESCO, wishing her success in her diplomatic endeavors.
