Beirut: The Syrian Arab Republic has submitted an official letter to UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres and the President of the UN Security Council, expressing its protest, condemnation, and categorical rejection of Colombia's recognition of what it called "Israeli sovereignty" over the occupied Syrian Golan.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Syria had strongly condemned a statement issued by Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 10, 2026. The statement recognized what it called "Israeli sovereignty" over the occupied Syrian Golan. Syria maintains that the Golan is an integral part of Syrian territory.
